Chris Child I've gone through the thread and picked out everything I think is a small feature (missed out bits that are larger features, match engine tweaking etc). Be great to get your thoughts on what is possible and/or what you like.

Coaching/Development

Winter coaching (off season development)

Intensive coaching for under 23s (more coaching, less fitness)

Stackable coaching slots (2 on one player)

Messages when players hit top form from practice

Messages when players hit 2nd XI top form

More than 10 coaching slots

Better indicators for youth potential

I realise we haven’t addressed many of the suggestions on this list yet, but the latest update has major improvements in the contracts section, which deals with some of the issues around country squads while the 100 is happening, and also improves AI bidding and team makeup in general. The 2nd innings batting AI is also much better. Still not perfect, but much improved chasing big scores. Some things on this list would require a saved game format change, which we can’t do once the game is out, but there are quite a few good suggestions I’ll look at.

• Might be possible. would need to stop the coaching being cleared at the end of the season and check to make sure the players don’t have a winter franchise or t20 team.

• These are kept as 10 max so that you have to manage your limited resources effectively

• Not sure how you could do this without it either being too accurate (taking away the need for the player to try out players and judge their skill) or annoyingly inaccurate.

1. Coaching for youth players to speed up/slow down their bowling

• Interesting idea – can’t do it for 2020 because it would need a change to the saved game format to store their original bowling speed.

1. Quicker turnaround for opener/middle order/aggression coaching

• This has been balanced so it’s not too easy to make all of your batsmen aggressive (generally worth more in the short format)

1. Scale up coaching improvement rate and /or scale down initial regen ability

• There are already a variety of re-gen types. Some will be able to improve a lot from a low base, others will approve less from a high base. Initial re-gens – there shouldn’t be top quality players in the initial list. The youth that appear later in the game are all sorts of abilities. Some people love finding a good re-gen early on.

1. T20/white ball specialists reflected in game

• Players already have OD and T20 ability. See comments on white ball contracts below.

The 100 (UI)

1. Runs to win/balls remaining on highlight screen

• Good idea

1. Current batsmen and score

• Not sure – might be a bit too much clutter. You can see who’s facing in the initial popup – could add their score to that?

1. RPO required

• RPO can be a bit misleading with 5 ball overs. SR required could be added.

1. A repeat over button

• Good idea (or swap bowler – so current and other bower swap around) – not sure it will be easy to add to the interface. Also need to be careful that the bowler is allowed another 5 balls.

1. Hover over the current bowler, it shows their average. For short games, bowling economy would be handy as well.

1. Separate stats

• It looks as though 100 and T20 are going to be treated as one format in official stats (like 40/50/60 over matches are all list A). We can’t change it this year anyway as it would change the saved game format. Will look at it next year when we might have more information.

• Regen balance is difficult. Is the issue here that re-gens are taking over from real players too quickly?

• Nice idea – needs a change to save game format. Possibly we could use the notes section?

• Don’t think we can save squads outside of a saved game. Might be possible to have separate file for keeping these.

• Need to look into this. We might only have one slot we can use for edited names in the current save format. 2021 if not.

1. Career summary page

• What do you want on this? If we don’t save the information already it will have to be 2021.

• Is this in a particular country? It’s balanced carefully, but might not be correct for some domestic system.

• Good idea (if we have the graphics for it).

Firstly massive thanks for taking the time for replying to all of this

i has a thought on the above - how about building in an indicator of potential on the personal screen, that is ‘unknown’ until you’ve put a certain amount of coaching into someone? So effectively you have to use your coaches & resource in order to see how good someone could become In the chosen discipline - which is kind of what you’d do in real life.... also might be one for the future releases

Sounds good, would be great to get this in to help develop players.

Not sure how you could do this without it either being too accurate (taking away the need for the player to try out players and judge their skill) or annoyingly inaccurate.

Perhaps some sort of beginning of season message from your acedemy coach saying something along the lines of who they think could be ready for first XI cricket this season. Perhaps it could look at the average batting/bowling ability of your side and if the player is within a certain % of that they'd be included.

That makes sense, at the moment it feels like a bit of a luck based thing though, I've had two saves where I've put a player on aggression coaching early on, one save he's still on it three seasons later with no change and the other save it happened within a few weeks, very frustrating. How about the opener/middle order training? In reality players moving to open or not happens reasonably regularly so feels like something which should be coachable a bit quicker.

Another request for me, which seems fairly simple (although coding may say otherwise)

I would really like to be able to stop controlling a 100 team alongside a county during a save, it seems I’m stuck into playing it every season regardless (unless I have missed something)

I agree you should have the option to resign from teams if managing multiple sides, you can resign from National but not domestic, ipl or 100 it seems

In a word, yes.

Chris Child - Main issue here is with getting the AI to select the best players as it should, they know the regens that are great so pick them straight away, some after their first half season of pro cricket. Maybe a rule put in that they can't be selected before they have played 20 first class matches would help? Very few players ever will have done this... maybe James Anderson and MS Dhoni? But if this helps the game I'm sure people will be happy for it

Agreed, the CPU starts putting in young guns with only a handful of FC games straight into the test team!

It happens every now and again in real life, but all the time in the game.

But most of the youth players who end up getting called into the test team earn it - the issue is far to often a batsman (in particular) comes out of the youth team and is averaging >60 with a dozen games. For the most part those guys do get selected in real-life (Ollie Pope comes to mind).

To my untrained eye - the youth players need to start out less able (or at least with a lower maximum level) but have a greater chance of becoming much better. As has been said, at the moment it feels like you can tell in half a dozen games how good a new player will be because he's not likely to get much better.

Granted I haven't got that far yet, but can teams outside the Test Championship enter it if their Test ranking gets inside the top 9? Likewise for say World Cups as well?

World Cup Associate/non-Test teams will be randomised. The Test Championship is the same 9, which is why we've removed the green bar from the world ratingss screen. Creating new fixtures for the "new" Test Championship team proved to be too complicated with how internationals fixtures are set up.

Resigning from a domestic side if managing two is a good idea. I like that.

Not sure if this counts as simple, but being able to change international teams would be a great feature - is it difficult to implement if done only at the end of a season to allow a database switch? I would love to be able to start as a country and then be able to see if you can make another country dominate. Like Micky Arthur!
