  • CC2020 Database Feedback: Aus 20 Over

I'm currently encountering a bug with vBulletin that is stopping me from creating a new forum, so will put the threads here and then carry them over.

    Bowling speeds are:

    RM > RFM > RMF > RF

If somebody should be a Chinaman, let me know.

All squads should be accuracte as of 1st April and how the season should have been played out.

Jono Wells is an aggressive middle order player for Adelaide in T20 rather than a very defensive opening bat. But don't know what type of player he is in other formats

Sam Elliott should be on the stars list

I've changed him to an aggressive middle order player. Whilst he's opened a lot in FC, he's also spent a fair bit of time in the middle order.

Regarding Adelaide Strikers, Wes Agar often bowls 145+ kph deliveries and hardly bowls anything below 140 I think he should be listed RF.

Thanks for the feedback. I've changed him to RF.

                Hi,

Long time fan of the series, figured I would chime in with some suggestions. I watch almost every game of the BBL each summer so I think my observations should be reasonably sound. Overall I think the main issue is how many players are classified as openers when they rarely if ever do the job for their team.

                For Adelaide:
I would argue that Matt Short isn't really an opener in t20 cricket. Travis Head also bats exclusively at 3 or 4 for the Strikers, though he does open sometimes in OD cricket.

Fair call on Matt Short, I've changed him to a middle order all-rounder. Travis Head is now just a middle order player.

                For Brisbane:
Joe Burns doesn't open in t20 cricket (in Australia at least). I'm a bit unsure about Labuschagne being labelled as an all-rounder. If he is then I would argue Travis Head also should be as he regularly bowls for the strikers and for SA (in fact he bowled 36 overs in one of the most recent shield games).

Burns is a tricky one, he opens in FC only, but we don't handle FC specialist openers. I'm going to have to leave him as an opener in all formats.

I'm also unsure with Marnus being an all-rounder, he has had some decent FC numbers with the ball recently but I think that's highly inflated by his bowling for Glamorgan in Division 2, which is a lowish standard of FC cricket. Marnus has bowled more in Tests for Aus than Head has. Tricky one.

                For Hobart:
Opening is not Ben McDermott's usual position, he tends to bat in the middle order.

Bit like Burns, he breaks our opener system as he only opens in List A, not 20 Over. I'm going to leave him as a OD/20 Over opener as his List A form in Australia has been really strong last two seasons.

                For Melbourne Red:
Fraser-McGurk has only bowled one over in proper representative cricket, and even recently for the under-19s he didn't bowl in the world cup. I would argue it's a bit early to call him a proper all-rounder.

I think that's a fair call, even in his 7 U-19 ODIs he only bowled 2 overs. Middle order player now.

                For Sydney Green:
Silk might have opened in t20 cricket a long time ago, but he doesn't done it for ages. I would say calling him middle order would make more sense.

Again, he breaks our system as he's a specialist opener in FC, but not the other formats. I'm going to have to leave him as is.

                Looking forward to the game!

Retire Chris Green (Sydney green) from FC cricket, he doesn’t play the format.

I think that's fair, he's not played any FC cricket in 6 years. He's still only 27 so I'm a bit hesitant to retire him based on that aspect, but feel it fits in with his career so far.

AEPT Thanks for your feedback. I've added comments above in bold.

Happy to help - sorry I wasn't sure whether your system supported FC-only openers or not!

Please promote current u19 players to international teams. Often the teams are filled with unknown names after 3 seasons and it kills interest. Please add more skills to the known young players.
