    1. Historical stats
a more in-depth database of historical results and statistics. I'd like to compare current greats (say year 2034) to past greats. I'd like to see when trophies were won further back than the 7-8 years provided also.

    2. Online needs to be improved

    4. Assistant coach budget
along with physio, training and youth an assistant couch budget would allow you greater insight into players skills and abilities but would also come at a cost

    4. Player characteristics
spin specialist? How about T20 specialist? Or "slogger" or "young gun" characteristics, this could tie into your assistant coach budget

    5. Colour coding and iconography
One of the great things about this sim management games is that it forces you to work it out yourself. I don't mind sifting through the data to work out my best 11 but how about make the data more presentable and easier (faster) to read using colour coding and more iconography.

    6. T20 engine seems fine to me, much luck involved like the real thing. .. It is a game of hit and miss

I do not know why the developers changed the overseas player availability for domestic competitions to include so many overseas youth players, who have played no first class cricket at all yet are eligible to be picked up as overseas players in offshore domestic leagues. It is unrealistic.

When I captain an international team, along with a domestic team, I notice players who are available for selection who have never appeared in the local domestic competition. For example in my India save there is an opener with an inflated average who plays for Tribal Areas, a Pakistan domestic side. He is almost 30 now and has been playing for Tribal Areas his whole career and has never once appeared in Indian domestic competitions! For the record he flopped at international cricket.

The only players who should be eligible to be picked up as overseas players in offshore domestic leagues are players who have played at least one international match - period!

Sadly, whatever suggestions are made are likely to be ignored by the powers that be. This game has hardly made any progress since its inception. The first version I played was Cricket Captain 3 (2007) - I thought it was a decent game, with a few flaws, but overall it had great potential. It has hardly changed since that first game I played, which is a great shame, particularly as there is zero competition to this genre of game (seeing as how Cricket Coach died off, or appears to). Speaking bluntly, the following flaws (quite basic ones to remedy) have existed for the last eleven years of games and, often, people on this forum have been crying out for them to be amended. These flaws are:

        1) You can't see bowling speeds. A basic thing to add realism.
        2) You can't see who the opposition captain is. Haha, a game called Cricket Captain and you don't know who the captain is.
        3) The World Ratings system is *still* the old one. This is utterly staggering. In real life cricket, the world rankings system was changed in 2003 - this game still hasn't been updated to reflect that! Realism straight out of the window.
        4) The same glitches with the 3d engine (e.g. ball going past the keeper only for said keeper to make a catch). Another finger to realism.
        5) No basic news items to update you with happenings in the in-game world, just an interminable list of scores for evermore. This is one thing I liked about Cricket Coach and that Football Manager has implemented successfully.
        6) In-game choices are so basic. The choices over batting haven't been touched for...ever? And the fielding interface is clunky and a pain to use. Bowling plans are a big part of real-life cricket, but totally non-existent here.
        7) Pitch conditions. Pitches only deteriorate in this game whereas, in real life, some pitches become friendlier to bat on as time wears on - e.g. Lord's is notoriously better to bat on during days two and three, than day one. But in Cricket Captain, pitches only get worse. Oh and you get no choice, internationally speaking, over what type of wicket you want. Still!
        8) Ratings! Still no ratings system for players, just guesswork based on averages. No other coaches as well, at whatever club/country you 'captain'. If there were a coaching system that gave you feedback on players/player development, the lack of ratings could be forgiven, but there isn't one!
        9) International progression. Let's say you play as the West Indies and you want to restore them to the glory years. You do really well. You get the Windies up to number one in the world in tests...but guess what? You're still forced to play a maximum of two-test and three-test series because the game remains frozen in the state it was at the start of the game, thinking that the Windies are still a lowly nation. This problem is magnified with the recent addition of the Irish and Afghan teams. Again, this has been a common complaint, but seemingly ignored.
        10) Tour creator. Yeah, the game randomly creates a itinerary for international sides, rather than allowing the user to develop one. This was something I thought Cricket Coach did well.
        11) No one knows what technique training does!
        12) Rain doesn't exist for ODIs or T20s which is, of course, unrealistic. And no, DRS, yet.
        13) Classic series - this isn't really a complaint, but what's the deal with classic series? Every version, a certain list of classic series pops out (this year, England-Pakistan and England-India from yesteryear, no doubt it'll be England-Australia next year) and then disappears for the next. If there's no holdback on licensing - and there doesn't appear to be considering how the 'all-time greats' mode has made an appearance - then why not make an extensive list of classic test series from the past for the user to play, for continuous versions?
        14) Statistics! Cricket is, alongside baseball, the most stat-intensive sport going. Cricket fans adore stats and numbers and decimal points and graphs and whatnot. But Cricket Captain is so stat-lite, a common source of frustration.
        15) Very minor. It's always the player who calls heads or tails, never the computer opponent.
        16) Player profiles are very light on information. Football Manager handles this near-perfectly, in my opinion. And there's no morale system to speak of, which is a stunning omission.

I've played this game on and off (mostly the latter) for the past eleven years. It's not a bad game, just a frustrating one. Immense potential not realised. A market of millions waiting to be reached, like Football Manager, but still untapped because of a stymieing lack of progress.

This type of rubbish needs to be fixed too... hit on the pad on the last ball of the game with one run needed for a win... and just stands there lol

You should pick your reserve overseas player when you need them. Too often, particularly in World Cup years, your main and reserve are both away at the same time.

As you well know, I have been a pain over South African Cricketers, who were denied the opportunity to play Test cricket due to the ban. For my part, I love what you have done in 2018, and the only change I would like to see is, the Classic test series removed, and players who toured but were never actually selected to play a test match, added to the all time greats list.

One update i would like to see is the computer stop automatically selecting 15 "modern" players every time i go to play an All Time Great's Option. Everytime i play that series i have to go in an "UNSELECT" players all the time!

And if the developer needs more options or niche cricket things - maybe run a kickstarter?

I agree with all of what you said but these few points I selected have always bugged me about the game.

Going back as far as the 2002 version I turned Zimbabwe into world beaters but got stuck with practically the same fixturing year after year. A couple of tests here and there. If I was very lucky there would be five Tests. Great to see Afghanistan and Ireland added, who I would want to play as I prefer taking over the small nations and seeing what I can do but knowing that the fixturing is going to be ordinary there is absolutely no point. Cricket Coach, which had its issues, certainly was good in regards to been able to create international tours as you went and the sheer amount of statistics you could access as web pages and then save into folders was awesome.

A complete overhaul, we’ve basically been given the same game for the last 3-4 years.
A fixture editor is a must.
A player/game editor is a must also, its fustrating when i cant move players around to match real life transfers. Even charge us seperate for an editor a bit like football manager does.
The end of season signing of players need to be revamped, i should have a larger selection of players i can choose to sign than the ones that are choosen by the game. Also you should be able to sign players on a game by game basis for example, signing a player on a 2 month contract for the beginning of the season. This happens in real life always. Being able to sign players throughout a season instead of having one set time at the end of each season. Being able to sign players on loan from fellow counties if they’re made available by there counties.
Also player development, players abilities dont seem to improve in the game no matter how much you train them. 2 examples i can use, jason sangha and shaheen afridi ive trained both these players time and time again yet both their abilities seem to stay the same.
The first ever cricket captain i played was the 2006 version with kevin pietersen on the cover and since then ive loved the game and played every version since, i just feel though with the last 2-3 versions the game has taken a backwards step, this is the first version since the 2006 release that i havent spent hours playing. I just feel the game needs more to it. I understand the developers dont have the budget someone like a football manager does so the game cant be that indepth but surely there should be a bit more too it. I literally feel for the last 2-3 version we have been given the same game with just a database change. I would pay double for the game if it meant we were getting a better product than to me what seems like a database change each year with little changes.

I would love some feedback or any thoughts and ideas on what people think of the points or ideas i made above.

Yes i've pretty much completely given up on technique training as it is a complete sham.

To be fair this version we got the two new international teams which was great.

I get the feeling that the next version will be just one major change with a host of small tweaks just like the last.

The big change is set to be the revamping of the online game, which has barely changed since 2005 (apart from international team addition)

However Sureshot did mention in another thread that they now have an increased budget.

I would love nothing more than for them to throw some money at some of the great suggestions in this thread, but like you will not be holding out hope.

About your first screenshot, to do with no international players playing PSL after 2-3 seasons.

I have experienced the same thing. It is also the same as in IPL.

The problem is because the team budgets are far too constrained so no team can afford the best players!

Instead of producing bidding wars for the top players, as is the case in real life, the complete opposite happens in game with the best international players not even playing in international T20 leagues because no one can afford their huge price tags!

Even the best domestic players do not play PSL/IPL because teams cannot afford them, unless you sign them and settle for a squad of 11-13 players!
