J.Shaw has spent a significant part of the season on loan at Gloucestershire and recently signed a permanent contract after bowling well. Think he could be moved to play from the start and get a small boost to bowling.

Moved Shaw to Gloucs and slight improvement to his bowling.

M.Taylor has been a key bowler this year averaging 26 in first class cricket. Struggles to get much below 40 in game so another that could do with a small boost?

His numbers are better than that, will be leaving as is.

R.Higgins is the counties second top scorer run wise and has been a key batsman so could do with a boost to batting.

    Improved his batting, good season.

J.Bracey topped the averages in the OD cup this season and scores at over a run a ball in the format so perhaps at least an increase from very defensive to defensive, maybe even average looking at his strike rates across all formats. He's also had an England Lions call up so maybe due a small batting improvement.

Would agree, think he's just about average based on this season.

G.van Buuren and J.Taylor have both barely bowled this season, I'd say they're both more part timers than all rounders now but could both be nerfed bowling wise at the least.

Neither are particularly highly rated with the ball, so will leave as is.

G.Drissell is a highly rated prospect who is beginning to break through but in game is a bit of a write off.

Not sure his current performances really demand an improvement in ability, he's young so will improved in game.

I dont think B.Howell should be an opener anymore, he spent the season batting between 4 and 8 in all formats so a middle order position would suit better. Perhaps 7 in FC, 6 in OD and t20.

Will leave as is, he has opened, and pretty recently too. He can still open if needed.

Adrian Neill the big South African/Scot RFM bowler is also missing altogether. George Willows a young opening batsman who played in the tour match against Australia may also be worth adding. Neill hasn't broken through yet though.

Any debuts will be picked up.

I.Cockbain is a t20 specialist so maybe worth moved up to aggressive.

Would agree, his SR suggest that.

S.Whittingham has been injured all season.

Hmm, did play a 2nd XI end of May though, and injuries we time to start of season. So we'll leave as is for now.

Aussie bowler A.Tye rejoined Gloucs for the t20 blast so worth adding as t20 only overseas?

    Has been added.

    Somerset

G.Bartlett has been leading FC run scorer this season so maybe a nudge upwards?

I'm going to leave as is for now, feel his ability is about right.

E.Byrom is very defensive in the game but in real life can adjust quite well and has been a big hitter in the Vitality Blast with a strike rate approaching 200. Perhaps an increase to defensive or average?

I'm going to increase to defensive.

T.Lammonby has played a big role in t20 cricket this season but never gets picked in game even a few years in.

    Agreed, improved his bowling.

    Other

C.Sole who starts the season uncontracted should be RMF as he is comfortably a 85-90mph bowler.

    Changed.

It would be nice to see C.Wallace, the Scottish wicketkeeper batsman made available on the uncontracted list. He spent some time in Gloucs second XI at the start if the season and has had trials at a few counties over the years so would be an interesting one to give a shot in game.

    Made available.

    • Will there be anymore DB updates for ICC19?

      • Hi,

With Warwickshire you need to add youngsters Dan Mousley, Ethan Brookes & George Garrett- all of whom have played for the first XI this season.

These are all in the next update.

Also, whilst I'm here, the first-class games seem heavily favoured towards aggressive batsman, and one-day and t20 the opposite. Not sure how easy it is for you to fix or if others have found the same but thought I'd mention it

        • WEST INDIES

Imran Khan listed as opener for all formats, at least for his last 10 First Class matches, he's been batting between 6th-9th position

          Changed to middle order all-rounder.

Not for this year, I'll add it for next year. I'd also like to add an initial when two players in a team have the same surname, neither of these are simple additions, but would be nice to do.

Would just be a nice touch imo. Thanks.
              This isn't possible.

Agree except I think aggressive players in OD are ok. I have given a few examples of this is in the bugs thread. Here is another one:

In my online team my number seven is very aggressive. However, if I bring him in with a couple overs left in a T20 and out him on eight aggression (one from max) all he will do is play and miss like crazy and/or get out. However, if I use and average aggression batsman they will competently hit boundaries.

Should this not be the other way around? Very aggressive batsman's hitting skills should be when they are on high aggression!!!

Can he please be changed to a seam bowler? Not sure what his speed are but I'm guessing fast medium otherwise he probably would be in the test team
Must be a different regen Robiul Haque, the only one in the game DB is a pacer. I'm going to tweak Shakib's code. Shakib had a great WC with the bat, but his previous two years with the bat were pretty average, which should be noted.

I think it's looking pretty certain that Ollie Rayner is going to sign full time for Kent when his loan expires (hence Riley's departure) but I don't know how you would cater for this. Maybe loans could be introduced in a future version...
Rayner looks to still be just a loan signing.

His own Twitter page spells it with 2 es.

Load up that save that I sent you. Check the highest wicket takers in test match cricket for Bangladesh. There at the top, with 443 wickets is a 31 year old off-spinner, who debuted in 2017, named Robiul Haque

                      • Hi Sureshot , without doubt, the database needs huge tweaking but more importantly, the aggressive batsman's attributes need to be toned down drastically! Hopefully, the next patch will be quite comprehensive and address these issues.

Easy mode will inflate the numbers quite a bit*, as Kohli's records are largely real, whereas Shaw's are recorded in-game from the Easy level.

*As it makes batting/bowling easier for the user.

This is an odd one, his rating is a long way from Kohli's. I've nerfed Shaw a bit more anyway, as I think he was being over-rated.

                          • Cheers for the reply to the Gloucester stuff Sureshot, keep up the good work.

                            • Personally I thought Shaw was right to have such a high rating. It is the domination of very aggressive batsman in red ball cricket which is the primary concern.

Shaw has been marginally improved, it should now match up with recent performances. Chris is looking at the 2nd bit.

Kuldeep Yadav is more deserving of a nerf - he is primarily a limited overs spinner IRL yet is the best Test spinner on the game!

His Test record is good, slight nerf though.

Thanks for all of your work on the updates

                              • P Shaw is good in my save not very overpowered averages 52 in 17 tests but score at 48 S/R which is very high for me. My other players scores at 35-40 S/R except Pant at 45 & Dhawan at 42

Kuldeep is overrated in tests currently but usually high rating is given to high potential young players like last year shadab khan was too op

In my first 2 years of India save the best spinners in tests are:-

Kuldeep yadav(slw) 109 wickets in 17 tests averaging under 21
Mehendi Hasan(os) 109 wickets in 18 tests averaging under 24
Taijul Islam(sla) 76 wickets in 17 tests averaging under 23
Shadab Khan(ls) 73 wickets in 13 tests averaging under 28
Lakshan Sandakan(slw) 68 wickets in 9 tests averaging under 24
Rashid Khan(ls) 66 wickets in 10 tests averaging under 20

whereas test specialist spinners Ashwin, Nathan Lyon, Maharaj & shakib are all either struggling or out of team

The major issue is the S/R of batsman in Tests/Fc

These are S/R range based on player aggression type in my save over two years in tests

Very Defensive Player S/R is around 30-40 in game

                                Some real life comparison

Dominic Sibley S/R of 37 in game & 41 in real FC
Kraigg Brathwaite S/R of 31 in game & 41 in real Tests
Tim Paine S/R of 32 in game & 44 in real tests

S/R for Very Defensive player seems realistic

Defensive player S/R is around 40-55 in game

                                Some real life comparison

Angelo Mathews S/R of 55 in game & 50 in real tests
Rory Burns S/R of 42 in game & 45 in real tests
Tom Latham S/R of 45 in game & 47 in real tests
Shane Dowrich S/R of 45 in game & 47 in real tests

S/R for Defensive player seems pretty realistic, I think it is little bit higher for some players ideally should be around 40-50

Average Aggressive player S/R is around 55-65 in game

                                Some real life comparison

Kane Williamson S/R of 62 in game & 52 in real tests
Joe Root S/R of 58 in game & 55 in real tests
Steve Smith S/R of 58 in game & 56 in real tests
Tamim Iqbal S/R of 58 in game & 57 in real tests

S/R for Average Aggressive is higher than it should be, ideal S/R would be around 45-55

Aggressive player S/R is around 65-75 in game

                                Some real life comparison

Travis Head S/R of 65 in game & 51 in real tests
Martin Guptill S/R of 72 in game & 47 in real tests
Ross Taylor S/R of 68 in game & 61 in real tests

S/R for Aggressive player is also higher than it should be, ideal S/R would be around 50-60

Very Aggressive player S/R is around 70-85 in game

                                Some real life comparison

Jos Butler S/R of 86 in game & 58 in real tests
David Warner S/R of 75 in game & 74 in real tests
Ben Stokes S/R of 78 in game & 59 in real tests
Aaron Finch S/R of 78 in game & 45 in real tests

S/R for Very Aggressive player is way too high too, ideal S/R would be around 60-70

I think player rating is not an issue but just player S/R need to be toned down
                                .
