  • Manipur: The Rise of a little Northeastern State

Background: In July 2018, the BCCI increased the total number of teams participating in the Indian domestic circuit to 37, one to the teams given a full member status was Manipur. A new Plate group was created where all the new teams will battle it out.

Aim: We'll be taking charge of Manipur in all three formats and slowly hope to promote our way to Group A with the big boys and aim to win all the three domestic tournaments. P.S did not take charge of any IPL time and the Indian captaincy is set to "Earn it"

I'm playing this career on the CC19 android version and hopefully you guys want to have something different on this story forum. As I'm new to CC and hopefully this series and you guys will help me learn more about the game. Please comment and Support!

Vijay Hazare Trophy Game 1: Manipur vs Puducherry

To start off the season, we travelled to Puducherry to take them on in the 1st out of 8 group games in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Puducherry has a few names known to the Indian domestic circuit such as Shreyas Gopal and Harsh Tyagi. It was not going to be a easy start but we were confident of a result.

Excellent result and a good start for the team as we beat Puducherry by 4 wickets with 9 overs to spare. After winning the toss Puducherry chose to bat and some good bowling from our pacers restricted them to only 231-8 in their 50 overs.
Our openers Pukhrambam Singh and the youngster Minesh Khullar who we signed at the start of the season put up a 120 runs partnership which lay the foundation to our first victory of the season.

MInesh Khullar scored a run a bowl 84 on his debut for the team and established himself as a starting opener for the team. I had a feeling that Minesh Khullar is going to a vital part for this team throughout the season.

P.S. Cant seem to figure out how to add photo directly to the post. if anyone knows, please comment and help

Interesting story choice. I am planning on doing a Bihar story. Did you get anyone on the contracts screen? A whole lot of national players should have been available to sign.

Thanks for the input! will definitely try it out tonight.

There definitely were national players on the contract screen, Virat Kohli is there almost all the time. But I'm a very big sucker for the youngers and regens ???? Had a few good looking youngsters available through our youth team and the market (Minesh Khullar). National caliber players are a little out of our budget in the 1st season.

Bihar is definitely going to be a good story with all their past history in the Indian domestic scene. will be following once you upload!

Vijay Hazare Trophy Game 2: Manipur vs Sikkim

Game 2 of Vijay Hazare Trophy against Sikkim was a good game as Sikkim won the toss and they posted a total of 285/6 out of their 50 overs and come our turn to bat we chased down the total relatively comfortably with 4 overs and 5 wickets wickets to spare as we finished with 287/5 in 45.3 overs. Another youngsters who we signed at the start of the season Namdev Kaldipur narrowly missed out on a maiden list A century as he scored a 93 ball 97 to set the win up for us. Winning both of our opening matches had our confidence up in the skies but cricket is a very unpredictable game.

Vijay Hazare Trophy Game 3: Arunachal Pradesh vs Manipur

For our 3rd game of the Vijay Hazare Trophy we traveled away to Arunachal Pradesh as we won the toss and decided to bat first, where the current Afghanistan Captain Rashid Khan ( Cricket Captain never fails to surprise us) had one of the best days for a cricketer as with the bowl he restricted us to a 242/6 with his 4 for 38 out of 10 overs. Where our 38 year young star batsmen and Captain Yashpal Singh scored a unbeaten 88. In response a Dhruv Shorey century (110) and that man Rashid Khan's half century (73) ended our 2 match unbeaten run as they chased down the target in 45 overs and ended on 243/5. Arunachal Pradesh has been a real eye opener how much work Manipur still needs..
