  • ICC2010 with latest Comodo Firewall Free?

    Hi all,

Has anyone got this game to work with Comodo? I am getting the error where the game just will not run, no error message or anything.

I know it must be conflicting with Comodo because I uninstalled AVG Free Anti-virus and it was still not working. It didn't work until I uninstalled Comodo. I have tried running as administrator, adding the game to the exception lists, disabling the resident shield and even closing comodo down, nothing seems to work.

Does anyone have any ideas? I have paid for the full version of this game and I'd rather not get a new firewall just for one game.
    Cheers.

With the exceptions set on Comodo, make sure you not only are using an administrator account, but when you try to run the game, right click on the shortcut and select Run As Administrator.

We had a similar issue earlier in the year where people needed to change some other settings. Can you make sure you do this.

Click Start, click Run, type sysdm.cpl, and then click OK.
On the Advanced tab, under Performance, click Settings.
On the Data Execution Prevention tab, Click Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only to select the OptIn policy.

Let me know how you get on with this. I'm unfamiliar with Comodo, so I'll do some research on it, there might be a general level setting for allowing programs to access the web, a few AV's have this. Have you read the sticky at top of the forum titled "Having problems running the game"? Might be some useful information in there.

      Thanks for your reply Surshot.

Yeah I've checked that thread and followed all the procedures. I've also searchd it for any mention of Comodo and nothing comes up.

The other thread that references Comodo is entitled "arghh help!" (only with more of each letter...), last post June 8 2010, in this forum, initiated by user 'joebaines'. I don't think it suggests anything that hasn't been suggested here, but check it in case I've missed something. Specifically, it talks about the elicence file (I think), and adding that to the exception list or whatever. Have a look...

Not ignoring this, but busy over the next couple of days (have a guess why!), but on the to-do list for Tuesday/Wednesday.

Sorry Jabso, did you not have any luck with my earlier suggestions?

Look at this for disabling Comodo.
