I dont think it was simply a publicity stunt by Yorkshire- seems they really rate him. His batting at 11 as previously mentioned is probably due to his age and size etc- though Moxon pointed out his batting was what needed the most work if he is to make it as a FC cricketer. Would be good to see Alex Lees in the database too- 18 year old academy captain who just scored 204 for the seconds, Moin Ashraf (though i expect he's already down to be included) and others such as Gurman Randhawa

Ashraf and Randhawa are in, they are on (Junior) professional contracts after all. I only tend to add Academy players if they've either played a few games for the team/look like playing a lot, etc.
Lees played a game last year. Lees can be added, you seem to be turning over a leaf the last few seasons, good to see Yorkshire back on the rise.

Also, with Bairstow with the Lions and Brophy injured I thought we might get to see Gibson in the Roses match today but they've brought Guy back after a 2 year absence. I assume Gibson is doing his exams though.Last edited by Chasjs; 05-18-2011, 12:35 PM.

Chas - If you think they should be in the Lancs squad then we can do that. Having had a quick look at them, I wouldn't have included Caunce just by looking at what he's done and his 2nd XI form, but Clark looks like he's playing well in the seconds and I'm guessing he's 2nd keeper now Sutton has gone back to Derbyshire?

I only really mention Caunce as he was in the squad for the last CB40 game (I think, for some reason the link on the website for that squad has been taken down) last year and was also given a scholarship contract.

But yes, EU passport.
EDIT: And Clark played today... two sixes to help us to a tie on debut!Last edited by Chasjs; 06-02-2011, 09:59 PM.

[QUOTE=Chasjs;16947]I actually read something a few days ago which said he was a qualified as a Kolpak player because of his Cypriot passport... now that just confused me as I thought you had to have played international cricket to qualify as a kolpak.QUOTE]
If he has a Cypriot passport it means he wouldn't need to qualify as a kolpak player. As a citizen of the EU he would be able to work anywhere in the EU without any restrictions, stemming from his nationality, placed on his ability to work. Kolpak players come from countries that have signed international agreements with the EU regarding free movement of workers and citizens, and depending on the individual agreements the EU member states may be able to impose more restrictions on those wishing to enter.
